In this video, Escoffier Online’s Chef Mark Dowling discusses pairing wine with vegetarian dishes. Certain wines go very well with many vegetarian dishes particularly plant based dishes. To start your pairing try pairing grilled vegetables with a Pinot Noir or a hardy Chardonnay. When preparing a grain dish like quinoa be mindful to have enough fat content, so it can hold up to a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Or if you are going to make a tempeh burger, since it is fermented you’ll find that it goes well if a Cabernet. Make sure to experiment and find out what you enjoy the most with your dishes.
