Food & Wine Magazine has a new award for the best pastry chefs in the U.S. These chefs have mastered the baking & pastry arts, and the commitment to their craft has paid off. According to the publication, all winners will be featured in the July issue of the magazine. Those selected for the honor include the following contestants: Melanie Durant of Empire State South in Atlanta, Monica Glass of Clio and Uni Sashimi Bar in Boston, Sarah Jordan of Boka and GT Fish & Oyster in Chicago, Stephanie Prida of Manresa in Los Gatos, Calif., and Bob Truitt Ai Fiori of the Altamarea Restaurant Group in New York City.

In order to qualify, chefs must have been in the industry for five years or less. Godiva, which sponsored the award, is excited to bring these new chefs into the spotlight, highlighting their culinary careers.

“Godiva is proud to be a part of this unique program that recognizes extraordinary culinary talent from around the country,” Jeri Finard, president of Godiva North America, told Eater. “We look forward to introducing the creativity, dedication and passion of these Best New Pastry Chefs to the Godiva community.”
