Anthony Bourdain, Guy Fieri And ‘Top Chef’ Receive 2013 Emmy Nominations

There might be plenty of good reasons for chefs in the culinary academy to tune into TV’s biggest night in September. Hollywood has given several nominations to many well-known names in the foodie world for the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Although everyone says it’s an honor just to be nominated, there’s a good chance that one of your favorite chefs could end up walking home with a statue, according to the Daily Meal. Once September rolls around, break out the bubbly, make up some great dishes you’ve learned in your online culinary courses and cheer on these great shows and chefs.

Anthony Bourdain
Unless you have been living under a rock, you should know who this guy is. The “No Reservations” author and world traveler has taken the culinary scene by storm in recent years, and a visit to an eatery on one of his TV shows can guarantee almost any chef booked reservations for the next several months. His latest project “Parts Unknown” is nominated for Outstanding Informational Series or Special. However, it doesn’t end there. Bourdain himself is also nominated as an Outstanding Host for A Reality or Reality-Competition Program. Clearly, it isn’t just the foodie world that loves Bourdain – Hollywood apparently favors him as well.

Guy Fieri
The always colorful Fieri was honored with just one nomination for his show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” in the Outstanding Reality Program section. His program is very popular, as he criss-crosses the country finding the best “greasy spoon” joints that offer all-American favorites like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and local concoctions like barbecue, clam chowder and chicken and dumplings.

“Top Chef”
This program has been a culinary tour de force for several seasons, so it should come as no shock that it has been nominated for the Outstanding Reality-Competition section, according to Zagat. The “Glacial Gourmand” episode is also nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for Reality Programming.
