Meet John who is a Culinary and Pastry Arts student with Escoffier Online International Culinary Academy. We hope you enjoy hearing his story!
I took another online culinary course and I passed that course. However, there was no instructor follow-up. You simply read and then took the exam for each chapter. It was either a pass or fail, but no explanation was provided and certainly no advice. Taking Escoffier Online is the best thing I could have done. They have great videos, live webcast, and you have a Chef Mentor who helps you with any questions. I particularly signed up for Escoffier Online because the online course provides me with the opportunity to go to school where a “brick and mortar” school was not available to me. I first started with the culinary course and because of the program, the instructors, and my Chef Mentor I decided to enroll in the Pastry course. I am enjoying both courses.
When I complete the courses, I plan on starting my own business, there are a lot of restaurants where I live, but I feel the food is sub-standard; lacking in favor and presentation. I feel if you are going to spend your money going out to dinner, you should get more than if you had chosen to stay at home for dinner. I believe Escoffier Online teaches skills to prepare their students to start their own business.
My advice to future students is if you want a great culinary online course, then don’t hesitate; sign up now. You will have fun, make new friends along the way, and learn proper culinary techniques and skills that will prepare you for whatever your specific culinary or pastry goals may be. Escoffier Online is a great school, their administrative staff and the Chef Mentors are most helpful.
