Culinary academy students are more than likely already familiar with the work of Guy Fieri. As one of the most celebrated celebrity chefs in the U.S., Fieri is a nearly constant presence on television and the Internet, as well as at high-profile culinary events. Throughout the course of his illustrious career he’s founded a number of restaurants including the popular California chain, Johnny Garlic’s. According to The Bakersfield Californian, Fieri has now set an opening date for the newest franchise in the Johnny Garlic’s line, a restaurant to be located in Bakersfield which will open in January 2015. Expansion
Fieri’s Johnny Garlic’s chain is already remarkably successful. As a co-owner, he and his partners have already established six different locations of the chain in Northern California. The arrival of the seventh one, in Southern California, according to Bakersfield Now, isn’t just good news for Fieri and his investors, though. the restaurant is expected to be something of a boon to the local economy, as nearly 120 jobs are expected to be filled locally in order to fully staff the franchise.

The restaurant
The restaurant prides itself on delivering lavish and delicious takes on classic American fare. Fieri has developed a signature burger that is available at all of the restaurant locations, featuring multiple kinds of cheese, fried onions and more. In a statement put out by his marketing representatives, JP Marketing, Fieri indicated his excitement to bring these flavors to another California location.

“I am thrilled to take Johnny Garlics first step into Southern California with our new Bakersfield location,” the statement read. “We are confident that residents will love the flavor-packed dishes that go far beyond a typical dining experience.”
