When you’re enrolled in one of many culinary schools, part of your food-based education is to stay in the know on the world’s top restaurants and what is going on in the culinary scene. To help you do just that, Glam Media, creator of Foodie.com, has released the first edition of the “Foodie Top 100 Restaurants of the World” list, which honors the most exceptional eateries across four continents.

“We are thrilled to release The Foodie Top 100 Restaurants list and our first print guidebook as the ultimate reference for all foodies, carefully selected by the world’s most knowledgeable food critics along with our Foodie editors,” said Samir Arora, chairman and CEO of Glam Media. “Our nomination criteria is ‘food first,’ with the goal to make the Foodie Top 100 Restaurants the definitive standard for recognizing the best dining experiences in the world.”

Topping the list are award-winning restaurants like The French Laundry, Le Bernardin, Kyo Aji, Pierre Gagnaire, Epicure and L’Ambroisie. To pick their winners, food critics went back to basics and put the food at the highest standard. Unlike other restaurant lists, they did not take factors like a limited wine list into consideration if it did not affect the quality of the food.
