It’s time for the 2nd Annual Austin Oyster Festival. The event will feature an expansive menu of raw, grilled and fried oysters. It takes place on Nov. 3 at Shoal Crossing Event Center, 8611 N. MoPac Expressway in Austin, Texas. Those who hold general admission seats will enjoy the event from 1-6 p.m., while VIP attendees will be treated to a special happy hour afterwards. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch.

The festival will feature live music, food and drink pairings and a market showcasing goods from local artisans.

Raw
The raw bar will offer oysters from Maine, Canada, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. These crustaceans will also be available by the dozens and in shooters. Additionally, buckets of peel n’ eat shrimp will be on hand for sampling.

Grilled
For those that love grilled shellfish, two classic preparations will be made. They will be served au gratin and in the Rockefeller style.

Fried
De-shelled oysters will be fried and served with shrimp in po’boy sandwiches along with pomme frites (french fries) and deep fried doughnuts.
