Escoffier Chefs Get Inducted Into The Disciples of Escoffier

On October 21, 2013, during a visit to the Auguste Escoffier Museum in Villeneuve-Loubet, France, three chefs were inducted into the Disciples of Escoffier International USA. One honoree included Escoffier Online’s Pastry Chef, Susie Wolak, who was welcomed into their society. During the induction Chef Susie was presented with the professional chef red sash, a certificate and was officially inducted by Michel Bouit, President of Disciples Escoffier International USA and Michel Escoffier, the great-grandson of Auguste Escoffier.

Chef Susie says about that day, “Being inducted into the Disciples of Escoffier International USA was a very big surprise for me and it is such an honor to be part of this prestigious group.  Being inducted in the Auguste Escoffier Museum in Villeneuve – Loubet, France is so meaningful. Upon departing for France I had no idea of this surprise event. In life we have moments which take our breath away and this was one for me. I am very honored to continue Escoffier’s work in preserving and maintaining the great traditions of French cooking as well as promoting culinary education and encouraging people to discover the desire and motivation to work as a professional chef.”

Not only are we excited for Chef Susie, we are very proud that a total of three Escoffier chefs got inducted that day. Inducted along side Chef Susie were two of our fellow Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts Chefs. Chef Graham Mitchell, Executive Chef at Escoffier School Boulder and Chef Robyn McArthur, Executive Chef at Escoffier School Austin. A big congratulations to all of our chefs!
