Student Spotlight: Dan Waring

We recently received a message from one of our current students and wanted to share with everyone!

Hello!  I am a current student in the online portion here at Escoffier, and I couldn’t be happier! I have always been the family chef at weddings, family reunions, and of course at home! I lost my job in the electronics industry back in 2008 and when I couldn’t find a job I took up my other passion, farming. There is nothing like being able to walk out into your gardens or fields and just picking what you want for dinner!  Then a revelation came to me….why don’t I just go to culinary school and start feeding people what I grow in my fields? When I looked around New Mexico for a culinary school I had very little choices available that would allow me to continue farming and still go to school.  Then I found Escoffier Online! Although I am still pretty new in the program I have learned a lot and I can’t wait to finish up and put my skills to good use. I am going to take my award winning fresh produce and work as a private chef. I also have some other farmer friends of mine that want me to start a farm to table catering business with them. The opportunities are out there!  Thank You again for making my dream come true!
