Team Escoffier Makes World Dessert Record Serving The Most Peach Melba

Happy 4th of July from our chefs at Escoffier Online! This holiday Chef Mark Dowling and Chef Susie Wolak visited the Naval Station Great Lakes to cook for those that serve our country.

The US Naval Station Great Lakes is on the shores of Lake Michigan, which was hosting their annual 4th of July BBQ for the sailors and officers who are being trained  in their various specialities for eventual deployment in the US Navy.  Chef Susie Wolak, Chef Mark Dowling, and sous chef Dennis Cole, prepared  over 1,700 Peach Melba desserts during their appearance along side the celebrity chefs from Diners, Drive-Ins’ and Dives on the Food Network. We also were amoung other wonderful chefs, Hodad’s known for the worlds best hamburger and Guerilla known for their oustanding BBQ.

After the visit Chef Susie said, “It was an amazing experience and truly takes your breath away. It was a great honor to serve our service men and women the very people who do so much for our country.”

All in all a whole new generation of people were able to learn about and taste Auguste Escoffier’s famous dessert! Thank you to the Naval Station for having us and we hope to get welcomed back next year to cook for all of our amazing soldiers.
