How To Make Lettuce Wraps
The perfect recipe for when you’ve over-indulged just a little bit too much, these lettuce wraps are really a lifesaver when it comes to weeknight dinners. Ground chicken makes for a lean, protein-packed filling that’s enhanced with Asian flavors like hoisin, soy sauce, garlic, onion, ginger and water chestnuts. Just saute it all up for a couple of minutes and then you’re ready to pile it high into butter lettuce leaves and ever so elegantly stuff it in your face. They’re kid approved and perfect for packing lunches the next day too!

Lettuce Wraps
1 tsp olive oil
1 pound ground chicken
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, diced
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 1-inch piece ginger, peeled and grated
1 8 oz can water chestnuts, drained and diced
1 tsp crushed red pepper
Salt & pepper to taste
1 head butter lettuce
1. Heat olive in a large pan over medium heat. Add in ground chicken and onion and crumble using a spatula. Cook until chicken is browned and onion is translucent, about 4 minutes. Add in garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until no longer fragrant.
2. Add in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, water chestnuts and crushed red pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
3. Use the butter lettuce leaves and stuff each one with your filling. Eat like a taco!
