How To Make Chicken Avocado Burgers

As soon as we smell the first hint of spring in the air, it’s time to bust out the grill. That means whipping up some of our favorite Weber recipes including this one for an avocado chicken burger. With ground chicken being a low-fat alternative to ground beef, this guiltless version means you can indulge in this patty whenever you want. With a mix of strong flavors like peppers, garlic, ginger mixed with the mellowness of avocado, this dish contains the perfect flavor balance. Serve it on a big bun with your favorite toppings or on a bed of lettuce for a carb-free version. Just remember, our online culinary school tip is to oil your skillet, griddle or grill beforehand as chicken likes to stick!

Chicken Avocado Burger

Ingredients
2 lbs ground chicken, chicken breast only
1 medium avocado, small diced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp cilantro, finely chopped
1 serrano pepper, minced
½ cup green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
3/4 cup panko
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions
1. In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients except the avocado.
2. Gently fold in the avocado pieces, being careful not to over mix.
3. Form into patties. Cook to an internal temperature of 165˚F.
4. Garnish and serve with your favorite burger toppings. Suggested condiments: salsa and guacamole.

You can garnish your burger with lettuce, tomato, sprouts and cilantro.

You can serve your burger on a bun or with a salad.
