4 tasty breakfast places in Chicago

A good breakfast fills you up and gives you energy throughout the day. Chicago is filled with many great breakfast joints that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. When you were in culinary academy, you probably learned how to cook an array of morning meals and know how much work it takes to make them. Here are four tasty breakfast places in Chicago:

Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House
Located by the Riviera Theatre, the Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House serves hearty breakfast food in a casual setting. The diner is dimly lit and filled with red vinyl booths that remind you of the 1970s. The menu features classic breakfast foods, like pancakes, waffles, eggs and hash browns. The portions are huge, so you definitely won't leave the place hungry. All the menu items are less than $10, so you will not have to spend a lot to enjoy a great meal.

Kanela Breakfast Club
Kanela Breakfast Club has only been in business for a year and a half and is already a favorite among many Chicago residents. The restaurant serves traditional American dishes with a Greek flair. When you open up the menu, you will find items like goat cheese omelet, crab cake benedict and steak and eggs. If you are in the mood for something more sweet, order the red velvet French toast or bread pudding pancakes.

Yolk
Yolk has several locations in The Windy City and offers some of the tastiest breakfast food around. The restaurant opened its doors in 2006 and became popular among tourists and locals very quickly. In fact, it was voted "#1 breakfast" by Fox News viewers in Chicago in 2008. Some of the most popular items on the menu include the smoked salmon scrambler, countryside skillet, apple blintzes and nutella crepes. The wait is usually long, so be sure to come early.

Rice 'N Bread
If you want a more unique breakfast experience, stop by Rice N' Bread. Located in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood, this diner serves Americans staples with a Korean twist. If you are stumped on what to order, try the Bulgogi. The Korean-style marinated meat is served with eggs, carrots and onions.
