30-Minute Meals

Life can get pretty busy. If you’re juggling culinary academy, work, a social life and any other commitments, it can be tough to nail down enough time to have dinner, let alone make it. However, there are plenty of meals that you and your family will love and only take a half hour to make. Many of these recipes only require ingredients that you already have in your cupboard. Just take the meat out of your freezer in the morning!

Chili
While making chili in your slow cooker is extremely easy on busy weeknights, sometimes you don’t plan ahead. This chili is a great last-minute choice and only requires four ingredients. You can add your own fixings as well, like peppers, onions and cheese.

Maple Salmon
For an alternative way to prepare salmon, try something sweet and salty like this maple recipe. Marinated with maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic and black pepper, it’s quick and easy, with ingredients you don’t have to go out and buy. Rather than having to watch and flip this salmon like you would cooking it on the grill, it’s cooked uncovered in the oven. It couldn’t be simpler.

Broccoli Beef
Just because broccoli beef isn’t considered an authentic Chinese dish, doesn’t mean it isn’t still delicious. With just 15 minutes of cook time and 15 minutes of prep, you can literally have the entire meal on the table in a half hour. Serve this broccoli and beef over your favorite noodles or on a bed of white or brown rice.

Stir Fry
The lovely thing about stir fry is that you can use all of your favorite vegetables. This recipe calls for carrots, onions, peppers, green beans, broccoli and mushrooms, but feel free to throw in some baby corn, water chestnuts, or even pineapple. Add some sesame oil and ginger to liven up the taste of the sauce.

Chicken Wraps
These chicken wraps are great for lunch or dinner. In fact, it would be a good plan to make extra ones when you prepare dinner to bring to work for lunch throughout the week. With only nine ingredients, these wraps are flavorful and filling. You can also add your own favorite wrap toppings to customize them to your liking!

Lemon Cappellini
This is one of those recipes that will seem much more complicated to the people you’re serving than it actually was. It’s light and fresh and perfect when you’re in a bind, because it only takes 20 minutes combined to prepare and cook it. Made with chicken, Cappellini pasta, olive oil, butter, lemon, Parmesan cheese and herbs, you probably already have everything on hand to make it.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken
Try this chicken if you’re looking for something unlike anything you’ve prepared before. Breaded with breadcrumbs and pecans in a sauce made of brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, this tangy chicken will go wonderfully alongside some mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables.
