Seattle Woman Eats Starbucks For A Year

Many students enrolled in online culinary courses shudder at the thought of eating at the same restaurant every day. However, some people find consistency comforting and enlightening. Take for example Seattle native Beautiful Existence, who finished her year long challenge to eat only Starbucks products.

Existence attends Bellevue College in Washington and is happily married with two children. She consumed Starbucks food for 365 days, extending the menu to include food associated with the coffee company like Roy Street Coffee and Tea, Tazo and Evolution Fresh when necessary. She announced her personal challenge to the world via her blog, 1 Year of My Life, on Jan 1, 2013. Every day since, she posted pictures of her Starbucks products along with thoughts and emotions relevant to her daily experience. Kind enough not to impose her dietary restrictions on her family, Existence prepared home cooked meals while still dining on Starbucks fare. When asked why she wanted to do something like this, she said the challenge and learning experience were worth the effort.

“I am fearless and wanted to explore new things in my life,” she told the Daily Mail. “I love to test the water and each time I challenge myself, I learn a lot.”

Her first non-Starbucks meal on Jan. 1, 2014, was fish and chips
