Free radicals facilitate the oxidative process in cells, limiting cell function and health. Berries are also known to slow down the degenerative process that occurs in the brain.

Leafy vegetables – Cabbage, broccoli and spinach are also excellent sources of antioxidants. The phytochemicals in leafy vegetables can help prevent the transformation of healthy cells into cancerous ones. Similar to the health-promoting properties in blueberries, phytochemicals help to improve memory, cognitive processes and reduce inflammation. Inflammation is linked to many chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and osteoporosis.
